Registration Agreement

This Registration Agreement (“Agreement”) is a binding contract between you, the parent or legal guardian (“you” or “Parent”), and 1001648608 Ontario Ltd., operating under the business name Clarington Flag Football (“we,” “us,” or “the League”), a for-profit corporation operating in Courtice, Ontario, Canada.
By completing the registration form and submitting payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Agreement.
1. Description of Services
Clarington Flag Football provides a recreational youth flag football program for children in Ontario, Canada. Registration includes the following:
- Participation in one (1) season of organized flag football, consisting of approximately seven (7) weeks of scheduled games.
- One (1) official team jersey (provided to the athlete). One (1) flag football belt. One (1) mouthguard.
- General liability and participant accident insurance coverage through Football Ontario for the duration of the season.
- Mandatory Football Ontario participant registration (included in your registration fee and handled by the League on your behalf).
- Access to trained and screened volunteer coaches.
- Use of municipal sports fields during scheduled game times.
Games are typically held on weekday evenings or weekends at municipal parks in Courtice, Ontario. The exact schedule, including game dates, times, and field locations, will be communicated to registered families prior to the start of the season.
2. Season Dates and Schedule
The season start date, end date, and weekly game schedule will be confirmed and communicated to all registered families by email no later than seven (7) days before the first scheduled game. The League reserves the right to adjust the schedule due to weather, field availability, or other circumstances beyond its control.
3. Registration Fee
The total registration fee is $250.00 CAD per athlete, per season.
This fee covers all items described in Section 1 above. There are no additional initiation fees, hidden charges, or recurring payments.
Payment method: Interac e-Transfer only.
Payment plans: In compliance with the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002, we offer an installment payment option. You may choose to pay the full amount at registration, or pay in two installments: Payment 1 (partial) due immediately at registration, and Payment 2 (remaining balance) due 5 business days later.
4. Notice of Rescission Rights
YOU MAY CANCEL THIS AGREEMENT AT ANY TIME DURING THE PERIOD THAT ENDS TEN (10) DAYS AFTER THE DAY YOU RECEIVE A WRITTEN COPY OF THIS AGREEMENT. YOU DO NOT NEED TO GIVE THE LEAGUE A REASON FOR CANCELLING DURING THIS 10-DAY PERIOD.
Under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002, you have a mandatory 10-day cooling-off period after completing this registration agreement. During this 10-day period, you may cancel this agreement for any reason and receive a full refund without penalty.
TO CANCEL, SEND AN EMAIL TO PLAY@CLARINGTONFLAGFOOTBALL.CA STATING YOUR INTENT TO CANCEL. IF YOU CANCEL THIS AGREEMENT WITHIN THIS 10-DAY PERIOD, THE LEAGUE WILL REFUND ALL PAYMENTS MADE UNDER THIS AGREEMENT WITHIN FIFTEEN (15) DAYS OF THE CANCELLATION.
This right cannot be waived or shortened under any circumstances, as required by the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002, s. 31.
5. Refund and Cancellation Policy
The following refund policy applies to all registrations:

If the 10-day cooling-off period extends into the 15-day pre-season window, the statutory 10-day right takes precedence and a full refund will be issued.
To request a cancellation or refund, email play@claringtonflagfootball.ca. All valid refunds will be issued via Interac e-Transfer within fifteen (15) days of the cancellation request.
If the League cancels the entire season or is unable to deliver the services described in this Agreement for any reason, a full refund will be issued to all registered families.
6. Equipment Policy
Upon registration, the League will order equipment (jersey, flag belt, and mouthguard) on behalf of the athlete. Equipment orders are placed approximately fifteen (15) days before the season start date.
All equipment provided to the athlete is theirs to keep, regardless of whether a refund is issued. Equipment is non-returnable due to health and hygiene considerations. The cost of equipment is included in the registration fee and is not separately refundable.
7. Weather Cancellations and Missed Games
Individual games may be cancelled or postponed due to inclement weather, unsafe field conditions, or other circumstances beyond the League’s control. The League will make reasonable efforts to reschedule cancelled games but cannot guarantee that all missed games will be made up.
No refunds, partial refunds, or credits will be issued for individual games that are cancelled or not rescheduled. The registration fee covers participation in the season as a whole, not a guaranteed number of individual games.
8. Assumption of Risk and Limitation of Liability
Flag football is a physical sport. While it is non-contact by design, participation carries inherent risks including but not limited to: sprains, strains, bruises, fractures, concussions, dental injuries, and other physical injuries.
By registering your child, you acknowledge that you understand these risks and voluntarily accept them on behalf of your child. You confirm that your child is physically fit to participate and that you have disclosed any relevant medical conditions or allergies on the registration form.
Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the total liability of 1001648608 Ontario Ltd., its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and agents for any and all claims arising from or related to participation in the program shall not exceed the registration fee paid by the Parent under this Agreement. In no event shall the League be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of income, emotional distress, or punitive damages.
Indemnification: You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless 1001648608 Ontario Ltd. (operating as Clarington Flag Football), its directors, officers, volunteers, and agents, as well as RCX Sports LLC (dba RCX Sports), The National Football League, its thirty-two professional member clubs, NFL Ventures, Inc., NFL Ventures, L.P., National Football League Foundation, NFL Properties LLC, Football Ontario, Football Canada, and their respective related subsidiaries, entities, affiliates, officers, directors, and employees, from and against any and all claims arising out of your child's participation in the program, except to the extent caused by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of the League.
9. Misrepresentation and Removal
All information provided on the registration form must be true, accurate, and complete. If the League determines that a Parent has provided false, misleading, or incomplete information, including but not limited to the athlete’s age, identity, medical conditions, or eligibility, the League reserves the right to immediately remove the athlete from the program without refund.
The League also reserves the right to remove any participant from the program without refund for violations of the Code of Conduct described in Section 10 below.
10. Code of Conduct
All athletes, parents, and spectators are expected to conduct themselves with respect and sportsmanship at all times. The League reserves the right to remove any participant or spectator from the program without refund for:
- Violent, threatening, or abusive behaviour.
- Harassment or discrimination of any kind.
- Repeated unsportsmanlike conduct.
- Interference with officials, coaches, or other participants.
- Any behaviour that endangers the safety or well-being of others.
11. Media Release
By agreeing to this Agreement, you grant 1001648608 Ontario Ltd., operating as Clarington Flag Football, a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide licence to photograph, film, record, and otherwise capture the likeness, image, voice, and athletic performance of your child during any League activity, game, practice, or event.
You consent to the use, reproduction, modification, distribution, display, and publication of such media in any format, medium, or platform, whether now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to:
- The League website and social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, etc.).
- Printed materials including flyers, posters, banners, brochures, and billboards.
- Digital advertising including online ads, email newsletters, and promotional videos.
- Television, radio, or streaming media.
- Any other promotional, educational, or commercial purpose at the sole discretion of the League.
No compensation will be provided for the use of your child’s likeness. This media release survives the termination or expiration of this Agreement.
If you do NOT consent to the use of your child’s likeness, you must notify the League in writing at play@claringtonflagfootball.ca prior to the start of the season. The League will make reasonable efforts to exclude your child from promotional materials, but cannot guarantee exclusion from incidental background appearances in group photos or game footage.
12. Personal Information and Privacy
The personal information collected during registration (including athlete name, date of birth, parent contact information, emergency contacts, and medical notes) is used solely for the purposes of administering the League, communicating with families, and meeting insurance and safety requirements.
All athletes in this league are under the age of 18. By completing this registration, you as the parent or legal guardian are providing consent under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) for the collection, use, and disclosure of your child's personal information as described in this Agreement and in our Privacy Policy. Children and youth cannot register themselves or provide consent on their own behalf. Only a parent or legal guardian may complete a registration on behalf of a minor.
This consent extends to personal information collected both through this website and in person during league activities, including medical information shared with our on-site paramedic, incident reports documented at the field, and any information required by Football Ontario or Football Canada for athlete registration.
Your information is handled in accordance with PIPEDA and our Privacy Policy, available at claringtonflagfootball.ca/privacy.html.
13. Communication
By registering, you consent to receive transactional emails from the League regarding schedules, game updates, weather cancellations, and other program-related communications.
Promotional communications about future seasons or League events will only be sent with your express consent, in accordance with Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing play@claringtonflagfootball.ca.
14. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute arising from this Agreement, the parties agree to first attempt to resolve the matter through good-faith communication. If the dispute cannot be resolved informally, either party may pursue resolution through the courts of the Province of Ontario.
15. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any legal proceedings arising from this Agreement shall be brought exclusively in the courts of the Province of Ontario, and both parties submit to the jurisdiction of those courts.
16. Severability
If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving the original intent.

18. Acknowledgment
By checking the box on the registration form and submitting payment, you confirm that:
- You have read and understood this Registration Agreement in its entirety.
- You agree to be bound by its terms.
- You are the parent or legal guardian of the athlete being registered.
- You have been given the opportunity to review and correct any errors before submitting.
- You understand your right to cancel within 10 days as described in Section 4.
- You consent to the media release described in Section 11 (unless you have opted out in writing).
- All information provided on the registration form is true, accurate, and complete.
