What Is the Combine?

Every NFL prospect goes through the Combine. Now it’s your turn. Athletes are evaluated across six drills so we can build balanced, competitive teams through the draft.

40-Yard Dash

The signature flag football speed test. Every athlete is timed over 40 yards. Pure speed. No excuses.

Speed

Route Running

Run a series of flag football routes slants, outs, posts, and comebacks. Show your footwork and separation.

Agility

Catching Drill

Hands. Concentration. Contested catches. Athletes are evaluated on their ability to secure the ball under pressure.

Hands

Quarterback Throw

Distance, accuracy, and touch. Athletes get three attempts to show their arm. The best throw is recorded.

Arm Strength

Short Shuttle

Five yards left, five yards right. The short shuttle tests lateral quickness and change-of-direction ability key skills in flag football.

Quickness

Flag Pull Drill

Defense wins championships. Athletes are evaluated on their ability to pull flags cleanly in a live flag football drill.

Combine FAQ

Who can participate in the FLAG Football Combine?

Any athlete registered for the Fall 2026 Clarington NFL FLAG Football season, ages 7 to 17, receives a personal Combine invite. You must be registered for the flag football season to attend.

Is the FLAG Football Combine mandatory?

The Combine is strongly encouraged but not mandatory. Athletes who attend will have their data used for the draft. Athletes who do not attend will still be placed on a flag football team, but without Combine data. The more athletes who participate, the better the draft data and the more fair and balanced every team will be for everyone in the league.

What should my athlete wear?

Athletic wear and running shoes. No cleats required. Dress to move and perform.

Are parents welcome to watch?

Yes. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend and watch from the sidelines. This is a great moment to see your athlete compete.

How is the data used?

Combine results are used exclusively to build balanced, competitive teams through the draft.

What if my athlete has never played flag football before?

Perfect. The FLAG Football Combine is for all skill levels. First-time flag football players are welcome and encouraged to participate. Every athlete starts somewhere, and the Combine is designed to evaluate natural ability, not experience.
